What is structured wiring?
Structured wiring gives you the ability to wire
your homes with cables for Video, telephone, data and audio. All
the cables are run through the inside of the walls during construction,
eliminating visible wiring. The rooms around the house can contain
enough outlets to get the maximum from the system, both now and
in the future. This means your customers can finally put there televisions
where they want, regardless of where the cable comes into the house
and they will have the flexibility to expand the system as necessary.
Structured wiring anticipates the present and future
electronic needs for your customers homes, structured wiring systems
should be the electronic foundation to the home. As the internet
and cable/Satellite television grows in popularity future proofing
the wiring in a home is now becoming essential. The research Firm
‘PARK ASSOCIATES’ reported that 48% of all new homes
will be pre-wired with structured wiring by the end of 2005.
Structured wiring opens many possibilities for
the home. Your televisions can be networked together to allow a
single DVD player to be watched in every room of the house. Computers
can be networked to share internet access, files and printers. Home
offices can have separate phone lines, fax lines. A Home built with
structured wiring can added too as the home owners needs and budgets
grow.
Components of ‘Structured
Wiring Systems'
Each system is comprised of three main components:
Component 1 – The Central Hub
A service center will be built into the home to receive all the
outside services such as Cable, telephone, DSS Satellite, Internet,
Etc. The central hub is where all the distribution components are
installed.
Component 2 – The Wiring
The high specification wiring allows the information to travel
around the house; these wires are home run which means they are
all wired from each outlet to the central hub. RG6 coax cables are
installed for Video, Cat5e/6 for telephone and data and high quality
speaker wires for audio.
At present most wiring for telephones/data is daisy chained this
makes it difficult to have multiple phone lines and data services.
Component 3 – The outlets
Outlets allow the information to exit from the electronic highway
and arrive at the televisions, computers, telephones Etc.
